Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

More snow on the North Rim

01 Snowing North Rim GRCA AZ

When the National Weather Service reports no accumulation, how much snow is that?

02 Snow around the Naturalist's office building NR GRCA AZ

Naturalists and Fee Collection building

It snowed on and off all day and we may have added another inch or two to the already existing feet of snow.

Tomorrow morning I take off for the South Rim for six days. It snowed there too. Saturday is Wildlife Day. Sunday no work all play because Mike is coming up that way. Monday and Tuesday is training with the South Rim folks. Wednesday return to the North Rim via Navajo & Hopi museums. Catch up with you all when I can.

SWF – A day of rainbows in South Africa

01 Rainbow R44 W Western Cape ZA (800x600)

The day after my birthday I left Hermanus and drove along the southern coast through Kogelbrg Biosphere Reserve. It was a day of cloudy skies and intermittent rain.

02 Rainbow approaching Betsy's Bay R44 W Western Cape ZA (800x600)

Yet I was blessed all day with rainbows. More than I could take pictures of while driving.

03 Gaelyn at Cape of Good Hope sign M65 S Table Mt NP Cape Pennisula ZA (800x600)

I made it to the Cape of Good Hope that afternoon.

04 Rainbow over False Bay from Moonglow B&B Glen Cairn Cape Pennisula ZA (800x600)

And spent the night at Moonglow B&B in Glen Cairn overlooking False Bay.

MWT - Very busy lately

Giraffe at Kruger National Park

Since returning from South Africa life has been a whirl wind tour.

Mike in the Weaver Mountains

Barely two weeks back home with my sweetie...

North Rim view from South Rim

...and I was on the road again heading back to work at the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park...

...via a hike with Ranger Jake into Havasu Canyon.

Snow on San Francisco Peaks

Then an extended layover with snow in Flagstaff.

Morning light over Bright Angel Canyon

I officially start work tomorrow and Friday our staff will visit the South Rim, via car not hiking, for five days.

Administrative area

That is if we’re not snowbound.

Tortoise at Addo Elephant Park South Africa

And I just can’t seem to catch up in Blogland. I actually gave up trying to read all past posts, although things are going faster for me in the cyberworld now that I’m off dialup.

Riding an ostrich in South Africa

It may take all summer to finish posting my South African adventure.

Lower New Navajo Falls

Then there’s the Havasu hike with breathtaking waterfalls in the desert.

Sunset from North Rim Lodge

And Grand Canyon of course on a daily basis for the next six months.

Zion National Park

Plus, many other journeys to nearby places.

Just how do you all keep up?
